At the end of each year, we set resolutions for the New Year. We usually set these resolutions to learn something new, to start a new hobby, or to upgrade ourselves, and at the same time to make ourselves a better person in the upcoming New Year. Sometimes we manage our decisions to last longer than a few months, but very often, life becomes fast and busy, so we stop or completely forget about them.
If the list of your resolutions for 2021 includes regular yoga practice, we’ll look at a few ways that will help us stay motivated and persistent in sticking to our goals.
- The reason
Always keep in mind the reasons why you started. Maybe it’s because you wanted to get healthier. Or to achieve inner peace, to calm your mind, or to get balanced. You can even write it down or mentally repeat it before starting with your practice. The thought of your reason will always motivate you.
- The goal
You need to always have a goal that you want to achieve. Maybe you want to have control over your thoughts and feelings, or maybe you want to become more flexible? Keep track of your progress, and when you reach your goal, feel free to set a new one.
Many people start their practice for a while and then give up. They will achieve their goals and then lose motivation. To avoid this, you should set a new goal. As long as you have goals, you’ll have the motivation to achieve them.
- Buy yoga clothes
Yoga practice should please you, and you should feel good while doing it. Appropriate clothing is the first step.
It doesn’t matter if it’s leggings, harem pants, or the good old sweat pants. There’s a large selection of colors and patterns, and you will easily find your favorite ones. Also, once you buy the clothes, you’ll surely feel bad if it’s left unused, so this will motivate you to get up and justify the cost.

Choose your style, put them on, and start with your practice.
- Closer to home
If you attend yoga classes, it would be desirable for the yoga studio to be closer to your home. The further away it is, the more excuses you can find to avoid going. If the location is closer to you, regardless of the weather or lack of time, there won’t be many reasons to miss your class.
These are small but powerful ways and tips. It’s not necessary to use them all, just a few of them are enough to notice a difference. We can use the effectiveness of some of these tips to fulfill some other interests. Start applying them and you will immediately notice a big change in the New Year of 2021.
